We have used this WordPress plugin for a number of years It is no longer supported by its author, but it has remained bug free through many different versions of WordPress and so we continue to use it. It allows you to optimize database, repair database, backup database, restore database, delete backup database , drop/empty tables and run selected queries. Supports automatic scheduling of backing up, optimizing and repairing of database.

A better way to find something that has the functionality that you desire is to use your favourite search tool as you may see other plugins in the results, along with comments, that will help you find just the right WordPress plugin for your site.
